Cerro del Medio, is one of the 26 island hills of the Metropolitan Region. Located in the foothills of the city of Santiago, commune of Lo Barnechea, it has an estimated area of 65.7 ha and an altitude of 1011 meters above sea level.
The hill must be maintained with a vocation of green areas and landscape value since native species of the Mediterranean ecosystem (Sclerophyllous Forest and Scrub) are present on it, among them: Litre, Espino, Maitén, Quillay, Colliguay, Bacaris, Maqui, among other. In the same way, in the place there is the presence of a diversity of native fauna, such as different species of birds and sightings of other species such as the culpeo fox have even been reported.
El Parque Natural Cerro del Medio tiene actualmente habilitado del orden de 5 km de senderos integrados por tres rutas:

From the Escuela Militar Metro, take collective locomotion at the whereabouts code PC617-Stop 1), route C14. Get off at Camino Los Trapenses with El Golf de Manquehue (whereabouts code PC910) From that point walk one block along Golf de Manquehue to Las Hualtatas.
